The other consequence of this Church position is it allows heterosexual men the ability to delude themselves about their own far more extensive responsibility for the spread of HIV/AIDS to women and children–as in letting them delude themselves with the notion gays started the whole thing. Which is of course, another lie.

You’re absolutely right of of course, Colleen.the whole use the AIDS argument here is entirely disingenous – they are not even referring exclusively to HIV, but to “sexually transmitted diseases”. If that were the real concern, they would be asking also for the criminalization of adultery. No, their sole concern is clearly to preserve the sexual dominance of “real” men.

The truly sad thing Terence is it’s the sexual behavior of heterosexuals which is driving the HIV/AIDS killing fields in Africa and Indonesia. Focusing exclusively on gays, in this context, is both incomprehensible and evil.

I sometimes wonder if the silence of the Church isn’t a direct result of the blatant hypocrisy of executing gays as an excuse not to have to deal with the innate attitude about the sexual rights of heterosexual men, especially as those rights subjugate women even to the extent of genital mutilation.
